Smile Thoughts on this bus?

I'm looking for a mid-size bus to make this my home-on-wheels & roam the continent with as little downtime as possibly A friend found this: 2000 Chevy Blue Bird: Miles 195,xxx; 3126 turbo cat engine, automatic, with some surface rust on the outside. The sellers bought it from a bus company almost 3 years ago and its been sitting outside this winter in MN. They're asking $6,000 (down from $8k). The handicap equipment is in place. Any advice is very welcome!

That is almost certainly way too much money, and the rust situation probably means it's best to avoid altogether. But you should include more details (like the exact transmission type) and ideally pictures or a link to the auction/CL listing.

Thanks. This is from a private seller & they didn't provide the exact transmission type. I kinda thought the price was a bit high. Thanks so much for your reply... this is all new to me!

One thing I would stress as somebody who bought his bus in a sort of hasty fashion: take your time and do lots of research (which kinda just means reading all the threads here and watching lots of youtube videos) before making a purchase. It really is not anything that has to be done in a hurry.

Price is double what it's worth and if it was bought by the current owner from the general area it will most likely have rust issues. For $6k I'd be looking for a pristine bus from the south west.

6k is for sure "kick ass bus" territory. Which a 2000 Chevy with a 3126 isn't likely to be.

Thanks everyone. I really appreciate your candid advice! Looks like I've got some good reading ahead of me.
Cheers, Kathy
