tire reccomendations ?s

hi all, i have read the latest tire FAQS in the forum and i am still unsure of the best tire for my 1985 s1700 IHC 345 gas bus. it currently has 900x20 bias ply tube type tires. i want to buy new tires preferably radials. is it correct that i can put on 10/22.5
radials in place of the 900x20 tires on it. i know i would have to buy radial tubes also. i want to get more of a standard size tire on the bus as you can hardly find a 900x20 in my area everyone states 2 to 3 day wait so that would not be good for me on a trip if i should need a tire. also is there a better, cheaper way to do this any imput is apreciated. thanks jesse

Greetings,
The 22.5's won't fit on the 20 inch rims.
You will have to buy a new set of Dayton AccuRide rims.
These are one piece rims and will run tubeless tires.
They will fit on the same spokes as the 20 inchers.
My bus presently has the 20 inch tube types with split rims.
I bought a set of 6 new AccuRide rims and am waiting for the dollars for new tires....
Here is a link to a page that shows the rims.
Mine takes part number F130391225.
http://www.hdpsales.com/accuriderims.htm
The whole set cost 64.00 to have them shipped from north Texas to central Texas via truck freight and they cost about 68.00 each with taxes added.

Hope this helps!

I recently went from 8.25x20 to 10R22.5 on my IHC Loadstar w/ 345. The information I have found that if you want to keep the same size of rire when moving to radials you should go with 9.00R22.5 however the 10R22.5 fit under there just fine with lots of room, look great, and will increase your top speed a bit.

I've been driving the bus a bit lately, I just got new exhaust on it yesterday. I am finding that I am having problems making the left turns. I think the bigger wheels and tires may have made my turning radius increase quite a bit.
