TRUST ME on this one, man- even 1/8' angle is way too thick and heavy to deal with even for filling modest gaps.

It was all I could get in the time-frame I was working with, and its ok... But it is a lot harder to drill and will require longer grip range rivets due to the increased thickness.

I wish I'd had time to have some little 14ga pices made to mimic this-

Make sure you give them a rib piece to test fit with, or have them make a couple to test fit yourself before having a whole batch made.

Cant wait to see all this !!!!

have you met Chris Caton on facebook? i think he is making some roof raise kits with the channels prefabbed. worth looking into if you don't want to mess with that yourself.

Turf,

Thanks for the suggestion. I would reach out to him but I have already had channel made by a local shop. I am picking them up in the morning.

You've had them made, is that price reasonable? Doesn't seem like a bad deal to me.

I didn't see a price. Mine were free but I think PNW steve paid $10 each without the hat part.
How much is he asking?

The kit is $300 for as many as your bus needs in lengths up to 20" raise. Yours were free, where do I get my free set, or what is it going to cost me?

Thing is- depending on how you raise it, actual hat channel can be a problem. The flanges on the new hat extensions have to line up with the old hat or it won't be flush.

My step-dad made mine in his off-time at work.
