How easy is it go over 100gb? I can get a Verizon unlimited plan for $45 a night and $500 upfront for a 2 year plan. In which I would easily make my money back compared to my current plan

And just checking. I mean I'll be on the road full time. My girl and I are full time college students and signed up for online classes, so we'd have a few hours of Internet each day for school work. Obviously could go to Starbucks and what not, but some peace and quiet sounds really good too

100 GB is lot. When I used it for my only internet connection, the most I ever used was 80.....and I have 3 kids who were watching videos quite a bit. You should be just fine

i posted earlier that i havent gone over 50 gigs. with a couple of people using it , streaming netflix for entertainment and it adds up.

verizon's tiered data plan for 100 gigs = $450/month, so paying full price for that data is $$$$$. the UDPs are a good deal if you keep it a year or more.

I'm pretty technical savvy, but sometimes need things dumbed down for me... Seems like it's getting worse the older I get.

Can I get the ABC123 version to get internet on my bus?
I'm on AT&T iPhone, and have fiber in the area... But it's short term.

Taking is word and going with the Tacom guy for the Verizon plan.
The Tacom guy states he can sell me a unlimited data plan for $500, and my monthly bill would be $45 a month. AND it's a 2 year plan.
$500/24 months= $20.8 a month
$20+$45=$65
So for roughly $65 a month over the course of 2 years I can have unlimited data on a jet pack (up to 8 devices) with no throttling of internet speed. I pay more than that for 5gb of data right now, as does most people.

FYI if you're under contract apparently you don't have to be careful of your usage. If the contract runs out, try to stay under 100gb a month.

Story short. Buy grandfathered Verizon plan, have internet on bus, pay money and keep the plan.

i joined that internet mobile group, and they explained it very well to me. they have some very well written information walking you through all the different options. they've kept me up to date on the news of that 100 gig limit that came up last month. it was money well spent for my needs.

i'm just sharing my experience with y'all. your mileage may vary.

there are no guarantees these plans will last, but for the time being its the cheapest mobile internet solution. i sure got that scare when i got my plan in May, and in July , Verizon announced bumping off the highest users and monitoring of the UDPs.

the change over to using the UPD for me cut my phone and internet bill in half. i still feel pretty smart about that.

thats the trouble with these plans.. verizon Cant legally kill the plan... HOWEVER they can obsolete the hardware you are using... and from my past when I had an unlimited plan years ago, they obsoleted the hardware which required I change plans and BAM! i was off the UDP... it was a little loophole in their contract... there are guidelines when it comes to the hardware... you may simply be able to connect a phone and use the phone as a hotspot.. you can still use a wifi extender t oget wired ethernet if thats what you need... their hope is to discourage peiple from using these plans.. but i think theres stil lways around it.. so you set up a smart phone on it and use the phone's hotspot feature.. which shouldnt invalidate the plan..

A little update on another unlimited data option other than spending $500 upfront on the Verizon plan.
Taking the advice found on many things on this forum FIND OUT WHAT YOUR NEEDS ARE BEFORE YOU GO OVERBOARD (electric/etc)
Although Verizon plan is very fast and very affordable after 2 year contract I've elected to find out my needs beforehand. I will 100% do the Verizon plan if I need it.

Cricket offers a $65 a month unlimited data without throttling but your speeds are always at 8mbps (suitable for Netflix). It's technically against the contract but you can get an AT&T go prepaid hotspot and use the Cricket Sim in the hotspot.

With the shakiness of the Verizon plans and purchasing them as of late. $65 a month doesn't sound too bad of a risk.
I can be a test dummy to see if this is a viable option while flying under the radar
