Re: VIN# Check

I've had no luck with info from Carfax and can't seem to find anywhere to get detailed bus info by VIN. So, yeah, anyone have suggestions?

Re: VIN# Check

I have this one for BlueBird
http://www.angelfire.com/ca/TORONTO/VIN/bluebird.html

Don't remember where I got it from. Scroll down to the bottom of the page. It has links to other buses (VIN Equipment Codes). If your bus body maker isn't there, try a search "(your bus) VIN Equipment codes"

I find it interesting that the seller's description doesn't always match the vehicle description. We were told our bus had a 90 gallon tank. Specifically. The guy was definite. I measured the tank the other day (just curious) when we dipped it. We had the tank float out (it has a tiny hole in the brass float we had to solder closed) and checked the condition of the fuel. Turns out the tank size = 143 gallon so we figure it probably holds 140 gal. and we have 1/2 tank of diesel left that has been sitting in there since we parked it in my daughters back yard in August 2009. I'm amazed. That diesel would have been stolen the first winter in Franklin. Used to heat someones house! Someone siphoned out both 90 gallon tanks on our Eagle over one winter. After that we kept very little fuel in it (we think we know who did it... they sold the fuel for drugs).

Current diesel prices up at Isleta Pueblo was $3.569/gal X 140 gallons = $499.66 That's a lot of hot dogs to sell!

Try 30-06 (which is actually my daughter's that was my Dad's gun)... I don't care for handguns (although Dad left his pistol to David). David sold our little 410 (his "squirrel" gun) that I was fond of to a gun collecting neighbour (seems it was a very collectible piece and he was all warped over it). My other daughter has the 12 gauge I learned to shoot with when I was 5 yo (silly thing kicked like a mule and laid me out flat on my back... the 30-06 - Dad's hunting rifle - fired real smooth).

They managed to get the fuel because we were never there. That winter David was in GA and FL while I was in TN and the Eagle was sitting in NC. That is why our fuel tanks tend to stay locked up except the skoolie tank doesn't have a key. I guess I need to pull the old lock off and replace it.
