I'm thinking something in black. With flames.

I went with the camoflauge paint, but I'm just a crazy outdoorsman. I think that dark forest green is a pretty color. What do you think?

Re: Warm weather made me think about getting my bus painted

I love my paint scheme ... I wish I did the splash on the front a little better but I like the theme I came up with. basically I wanted the top to be white and the sizes to be blue... then I thought how I could blend the 2... after a few days it just came to me. I recommend picking the colors or colors you want first then come up with a theme.

Whenever I go to a big department store I park way in the back of the lot... then when we come out I scan the horizon and go "humm where did I park" I see car rooftops then off in the back a huge bus with blue waves along the roof. Kinda hard to loose it, hahaha.

You're pretty good. That's a 1957 Cadillac, but it's a real car, customized by Boyd Coddington. I wrote a story about it for a magazine. It was built for an advertising campaign and raffled off.

My pedal powered one is a 1963, called the Counterfeit Cadillac, built by a professional movie-prop fabricator. It weighs about 600 pounds.

I have thought about using that Light Cranberry color on it, but it is in Highway Patrol black and white now, so it will be raced as "Counterfeit Bluesmobile" this year. I even have a replica Illinois BDR529 license palte for it.

The magazine has a web site -- amcar.no -- but they post only a small sample of the material, and I don't see any of my stuff there now. The Light Cranberry 1957 Caddy was in the February issue, which is ancient history now. And no, it is all in Norwegian anyway. Sorry; can't win'em all!

Wow thanks. I didn't know I had paint job fans, hahaha.

Feel free to use it/part of it if you want.

What a shock when Boyd died recently. An accidental fall in his home led to his death at age 63.

Re: Warm weather made me think about getting my bus painted

Just yesterday I picked up the paint for our bus. Was going to get the Rustoleum like everyone else but couldn't find the colors I wanted in gallons and it was going to take too long to get them ordered. Went to Kelly Moore paints and bought their industrial coatings paint. They claim it has a higher zinc content than the Rustoleum making it more rust inhibitive. It's a high gloss enamel so it should have a nice sheen. It was $6 a gallon more expensive than the Rustoleum. I have to admit I'm dreading this part, although it will mean we are wrapping it up. Hey Timbuk! I know you've gotten so good at taking paint off, I bet you'd be a natural at putting it back on. Want some practice?
