What Kinda Bus Should I Get??

I'm going to convert a School Bus into a band-mobile/home with pretty minimalistic amenities. I plan to install about 12 bunk beds, a small kitchen area with a stove and fridge (probably run from propane), some lighting and power outlets. My questions are:

What are the most reliable/least problematic models of buses to look for?

I would eventually like to convert it to WVO, does this change the style of bus I should look for?

Thanks guys,
Cooper

Re: What Kinda Bus Should I Get??

There is no right or wrong to it really, you want the buy the best bus your money can buy. Since they are used, old, and hi mileage, it's all a crap shoot really. Some people will tell you to find something with a Cummins Diesel in it, others will tell you to get one with a Caterpillar Diesel, while others will tell you a Detroit Diesel is best. It's all a matter of opinion.

You should aim your search more for what your needs are than what it is going to have under the hood. Length, interior hieght, storage bays etc. Frankly speaking, if I were to convert a bus to haul a band around, complete with band equipment, I'd probably be looking at hiway buses (MCI, Eagle, Prevost etc) to take advantange of the giant storage bays underneath, as well as the fact they are already equipped with a toitey and waste tank.
