What's the best way to fix my windows UP permanently?

I'm currently working on my windows on my bus. I'm tinting and painting and it's coming along nicely. I have my floor plans all drawn up and am painting the windows where there is going to be a wall, black from the inside. Also, on those, I'm trying to figure out a way to fix them so they stay up for good. I moved windows around so that the bad ones are going to go where a wall will be. By bad, I mean that when they're up, they fall down slightly or have a bit of a gap. I moved the good ones where I want to be able to open windows. I was thinking about drilling some screws into the sides of the window frames or even using some epoxy. What did you guys do?

Re: What's the best way to fix my windows UP permanently?

How about on the inside screw in some stops on the channel to hold the windows up. On my bluebird windows it has/had stops on a few windows that stoped it from going all the way down, which I took out and discarded so I can put in store bought adjustable screens with out modifying them.

Before locking them inplace I'd use a 2x4 and/or a jack and wedge them up tight.

on my first one I use that foam in a can and went around the edges to seal them (I hate air drafts) and it seemed to reduce/stop the rattles as well. A bit ugly though, but as they are painted (like yours) no one can see it from the outside

Just run a TEK screw through the frames on both the upper and lower windows where they over lap in the middle...one screw through both frames, you can do this from either the inside or the outside.

That's an excellent idea! That's what I'm going to do. I don't know why I can't think of simple stuff! HA!

That isn't how I took it either, that's what I turned it into...just me trying to be funny (my dry sense of humor)...

I buy my TEK screws at a place called American Maintenance Suppliers... Just about any fastner company will have them, I think Lowes may carry some too. Nothing but some screws with drill points on the tips... You could just drill a pilot hole and run a sheet metal screw through there too...

silicone isn't a bad method to keep your windows up and they won't rattle either
