Wheel Chair Door Lock??

What have you done for your rear door and wheel chair door locks?

I slide a couch cushion in between the wheel chair lift and the door. It makes it impossible to raise the handle.
Yeah, kind of a hillbilly fix but it stops things from rattling too.

I drilled a hole through both the handle and the shield and inserted a snap-link. Easy enough to remove in the event of an irate boyfriend/husband.

That was my first thought to secure the door. It was just to awkward to reach because I still have the lift in my bus. The cushion works for me and it's easy to remove.
I've used carpentry clamps or even zip ties to secure the handl, or you could put in a little hand operated deadbolt like on the back door has, provided you have a back door.

Cheap barrel bolt at the top so you can reach it over the lift

Now why didn't I think of that? My thought process was to make the door handle so it didn't work from the outside at all, and actually a couch cushion does a nice job of stopping the handle from rising on the inside.

I like the deadbolt idea and I think I'll go with that. Thanks.
