It looks like polybutylene pipe, not used anymore, if repairing get a transition coupler to Pex pipe (will need a crimper for crimp rings) and proper fittings. If for new construction you can use stainless steel crimp rings instead of copper, crimper is much less expensive, or if you know a plumber they will have crimp tools. All parts available at Lowes, Home Depot,etc.
