i love my toaster oven! and my microwave. and i use an electric griddle too. and my cheap 10 dollar wal-mart coffee maker. one of those 12 volt plug in coolers is a pretty good alternative for a fridge too....especially if you're only using your bus occasionally for camping.

Use a wood stove for heat. Nothing beats free heating fuel. That's how I heat my bus. I have it parked out in the timber with no electrical hookup - only batteries and power inverters. My wood stove keeps my bus anywhere from 70-90 degrees, depending on the type and amount of wood I stock it with. I have gotten it to 98 degrees inside. I purchased my stove from Cabela's for only $75, and that included the damper, spark arrester and stove pipe.
