Which washer & dryer?

Other than big things like sleeping bags, comforters and occasionally large loads of big towels, we now do all ours by hand and wonderwasher with a BestHands wringer. With your crew I can see wanting a machine--that's a lot of washing.

Both will take a long time to dry. We are looking for a stacked washer with LP Gas dryer. The 120VAC dryers are basically a regular dryer with only one heating element. The Splendide all-in-one unit will dry clothes overnight (note... it's running all night) and 12oVAC dryer will take at least twice as long as a regular electric dryer to dry the clothes.

Splendide and Ariston are the same manufacturer but selling under different names. The same washer/dryer is sold around the world under something like 4 to 6 names (I quit researching this type washer so I'm no longer current). For those of you who are interested in one of these type units (LG also makes one) you need the VENTED model. Based on everything that I have read on the RV forums, you should plan to start your laundry cycle before you go to bed so that your clothes will (should) be dry by morning. The website that was linked to in the above post is Westland Sales. They have been selling the Splendide for many years. I see they finally got a slicker website.

http://www.westlandsales.com/ Westland has been selling to the "mobile" homeowner long enough, that if an appliance is on their site, then it has been "owner tester" to survive roads & seas. They have a good reputation among the RVers for after market appliances.
