Wifi antenna on a skoolie...

Is there such a thing as a wifi antenna that could be placed on a bus that would increase the signal strength to a laptop inside the bus. What I mean is that I want to sit inside the bus, use the wifi from the house, and not have any wires plugged into the laptop. It would be more like a repeater station than an antenna, but it would be nice to be able to get a reliable signal through the double shielded bus body.

Yes, that is what I was thinking. It isn't just 'like a repeater', it IS a repeater! Anyone have any experience using these things? Can you put an outside antenna on these things? Now you got me thinking...

I have a range extender that I plug into my USB port to help boost the range of my laptop. It does work. It cost me about $100 from best buy. I think it is different from what is in the link.

Interesting...I want to be able to use something that doesn't have to be plugged into the laptop. Does it just get its power from the USB? We have two laptops and an iPhone that we would like to be able to access wifi with and not worry about who has the cord at the moment.

I spent about 5 minutes searching for it but can't find the exact one. I will see if there is anything on the antenna. It doesn't need power. Just plug it into the port. I think the one on the van will probably work better.

Exactly what I was thinking. Laptops are supposed to be cordless for a reason!
