window AC unit over rear door vs mini split

I have seen a few installs where a mini split evaporator is mounted over the rear door and the condensor is mounted out back or right above.

Why not just cut a hole, weld a frame, and then slide in a window unit? Seems simple and easy.

Some have done just that. I have also seen folks mount them in a side window with the ability to remove it for travel.

The mini-split is much more efficient and will run easily on a smaller generators.

The mini-splits are generally much quieter.

I stuck one in a window in the garage to use while building. It works well enough that I will store it in the bus garage and use when needed. Sticks out too far to leave it while driving.

Had a reply all typed out but, my "token" expired. I'm not going to type all that again on a phone.
