Window Tinting Products?

We plan to tint our windows with the mirrored look for privacy and because we'll be in Mexico and will need some heat reflection. I have spent hours looking at car window tinting. We even bought some and tried it but can only buy small amounts and need enough for 17 windows. Any advice out there. I have tried calling tinting places to see if I can buy it off the roll but it was the same price. Thanks.

I used 20% Gila ceramic film from an auto parts store. Ceramic tint reflects far more heat than any other type of film or so Ive been told. Regular tint just blocks light transmission but very little heat. If I had to do it over again I would have went with a 5% ceramic, 20 is too light..

I bought my tint from a seller on ebay. Got 200' of 5% limo tint for $60 with free shipping. Thats what these guys do. They also have a website that gives full detailed instructions on how to install it. Also, even with the free shipping, it left their shop the day I paypal'd them the money, and was here the following day. Great people to work with. They also have a number on their ebay listings and when I had questions about the install I called and they talked me through the process. Great people to work with. Here is a link to their ebay stuff.

I have started installing it using their instructions and it is working great. Here is a couple pics.

Re: Window Tinting Products?

Look around on how to apply tinting to glass. The more you find that tells you how to apply it, the better. Find one of those rubber rollers and a spray bottle. When my father tinted his sliding door on the back of the house, he only sprayed a line down the middle of the door and put the film on it, taping at the top to hold it up, then rolled out the middle before spraying a little more of the door and so on. He didnt get any bubbles, but there is a bit of cat hair stuck in it.

Always start in the middle, and if you have too, peel, spray, and re-stick again...

Just make sure the windows are really clean since every little spec of dirt or any hair shows in the tint. You can use a razor blade to scrape the little bumps of old dirt off.
