Windows: single pane vs dual pane vs school bus standard

Hi Everyone,

I'm ashamed to say I've had my bus for longer than I'd like to admit, and I am getting ready to make some moves soon. Which makes me want to ask a few questions regarding windows.

After a lot of flip flopping, I am starting to muster up the guts to take out the windows and put in RV windows. I just found a handful of windows on craigslist which I am contemplating getting, at $20 a piece. I've been told the sizes range from 1'x1' to 2.5' x 5' all of which are single pane.

Will I be regretting buying these single pane and installing them? I was thinking I would get all of the 2.5 x 5' windows, and that I would put some sort of insulating sheet over them. Also, if I stack these on top of each other and install them as makeshift dual pane will that work?

I am assuming single pane RV windows will still insulate better than the school bus standard windows? Thanks for your help everyone, I will start posting pictures of the bus soon.

Yes, rv windows, even single pane are a big upgrade from the stock windows. Youre getting a god price on them, but make sure the will fit in the orientation you need. RV windows do have a top and bottom.

If you buy multiple windows from the same seller on ebay, you can save a lot on shipping. This is what I did and I went with double pane because I prioritized livability in cold and hot climates. If you're going to the trouble of replacing the windows, id spend the extra and get the double pane. Just my .02
