Windshield Washer Fluid: Do You Actually Use It?

You windshield is high, your following distance is long, and your speeds are low. You are driving a bus.

Furthermore, if you love your bus, you might even be wiping the windshields every time you stop for fuel--so do you really need dedicated washer fluid tanks? I've never actually used mine.

The washer fluid bottle on my short bus was broken when I bought it, and we've put 30k driving around the country like that... So that's an easy $100 for me.

I used to drive for a living - washing the windshield while fueling isn't that much of a stretch.

Going into Wash. I crossed by a lake and hit a cloud of bugs that just spattered the windshield, washers kept them from drying before I could stop up thew road and clean the windshields. Mine will stay functional.

Too much night driving... new windows, rainx and washer fluids, expecting 1200 mile range on full tanks, probably want to clean windows on the fly.

Good point. While washer fluid does not succeed at cleaning a good deal of bugs/debris, it does make them easier to clean later.

Still, if nobody says I'm crazy, I think I'll remove my washer tank--partly to save space in the cabin but also because the coolant overflow tank need its cap!

Mostly, no. Used to live in Minnesota and when the salt slime off the road gets on the windshield there NO seeing thru it without a shot of washer fluid.
