This beauty is a beast. V-8 4 speed with a 2 speed rear end. Starts right up and runs great. New tires and very little rust. Interior has been stripped and is ready for conversion. I do not have a title for the bus. It is located in Springfield, Missouri. I will continue to work on the conversion as long as I have it. I have removed all interior wall panels and roof panels. The flooring has been removed and I am in the process of filling the bolt holes in the floor. Price will continue to go up as work is completed. Feel free to contact me with comments and questions. Thanks for looking!

Asking $4500 OBO

I saw that as well. It could be a serious issue depending on where the future owner titles it. I'm not sure that the Vermont route people use for motorcycles and regular autos will work for a bus or converted bus.

Most places don't require a title on anything over 20 years old. Is it important to the sale?

Maybe one or two states, but most the states I'm familiar with will want a title.

if it needs a title, being of that i doubt it requires one, then simple send it through VT to get a registration to be able to title. Seems like a simple hurdle to clear.

id love to have this... called Ohio and they said they need a title for anything that new... seems things mustve changed around 1970 or so?? lots in ohio seems to change with purchasing old vehicles older than 1970. but newer is all the same..

a bill of sale they said helps but id still hae to go through the title-search methods.. trouble is a seller can screw you.. they send out letters asking the last known owners to respond.. so even the seller may not be that person they can take the vehicle aweay if they get the letters and respond.. too risky...

Can you apply for a bonded title? that would keep you from loosing your money. I have looked into this recently as well.

did you mention this is coming from out of state? In Alabama only things newer than either 25-30 years need a title. the state won't even issue one on such an older ride. So if its coming from a state that doesn't require one they should take that into consideration.

3 states I've lived in don't, Ct., Ga., Ca.

N.H, Me, Ala., R.I., Ks. also don't require titles after a certain year, some as little as 15 and some like Ks. is 35years.
We don't know where the poster who mentioned no title is from, so we can't answer for him.
I'm sure there are many other states that don't require a title. Here in Ga. if it's older than 1985 and you don't have a title, you don't need one and they will not issue you one if you want one. Here all you need on a vintage vehicle is a BOS and that can be written on piece of toilet paper.

So funny- last night I was showing this to Roxy and I was telling her this would be a great bus for someone like Chris to fix up.

they bring up good points about being out of state.. I didnt mention that to the title office when I talked to them, so maybe ohio issues a title for it once it gets in the state.. if its still available once I get beyond this heavy duty install im on now I'll give the DMV another call.. it looks like it could be a fun project to mess around with for sure.

oops

Sorry, I haven't been checking my account. The bus is still for sale. It is currently located in Missouri. I am in the process of getting it registered in the state of Vermont. From what I've read, it is not much of a hassle to get it titled. Here is a link to a skoolie user with first hand experience.

P.s. My bus and I were on the news.

In NC it is 35 so my 77 truck is cleared and my bus only is almost there as an 86.
Only a few more years with a full inspection.
They have thought me a lot for when I don't have to take it to them unless I want to
