If you are looking at scholl buses for $5000, you should consider this one.

When I was a teen and prowling around the local scrap yards and rv lots looking for anything VW related I once came upon an old Wanderlodge.
I was blown away and wanted it badly.
So much classier than any regular Winnebago or stick and staples rig.

All the older Wanderlodges are built using the same chassis/frame/running gear as the flat faced skoolies of thet era (front engined All Americans). In a way...Blue Bird might be considered a Skoolie Converter.

Although, as I learned from a factory tech...they really HATE it when anybody else messes with their buses.

built on the same chassis, but the body was completely hand built in the wonderlodge factory across from the school bus factory

unless modified (like my wonderlodge) it will have a 215 HP NA 3208 cat, allison MT643 trans, be geared to run 55 all day with a top speed around 65, that one is the rare rear bath model, has a diesel generator (an option, gas was standard with a separate gas tank for it) roof airs are so much nicer to work on than the under body cruise aires mine has ( 2 of which do not work) does not say if it has air ride

that is actually a very good price for a running wanderlodge considering that it was about $180,000 new
