1995 international d466e Rare Build

We're reluctantly selling our one of a kind bus. We've had the time of our lives converting it and taking small trips. But, life happens (specifically medical bills). We've poured hundreds if not thousands of hours into the bus.
We have a 1995 International D466 engine that is fully mechanical, which means easier and cheap repairs and pretty much any truck stop along your trip will have parts available. Million mile motor.
The bus has 64,000 original miles with about 3000 engine hours.
MT643 automatic trans, with air brakes, and air suspension. Electric, solar already done.
The air suspension compared to a hydraulic bus sells it alone.
The back of the bus's chassis has been lowered professionally ($5600 in 2006). It's designed to hold three 2,500 pound horses originally and is rated to hold multiple ATVS, motorcycles, kayaks, small car, golf carts, camping gear, etc. You wont find a bus with more possibilities! When parked the bus is walk in level, and when driving it rises to sit as a normal bus does via the air suspension. (See photos)
We used the back as a woodshop for our etsy shop.
The bus mechanically has been fully looked at by a professional International Mechanic, who services large trucks as well as the fire department in our area. And will answer all questions.
Tires good, low/,minimal rust, new fuel pump, new 160amp alternator, oil change/filters, air bags good, new 8d starting battery, and more. June 2016. Ready to travel anywhere across the country today. ($2000)
Upgrades:
-Custom walk in back storage area ($5600)
-Clean bill of health from mechanic ($2000)
- 300 watt renogy solar kit with 30amp charge controller ($700)
-2000 watt aims inverter with built in battery charger ($650)
- two 225 amp hour house batteries ($300)
- Highest rated Sound deadening board for all interior floor. ($1000)
-140 amp battery smart isolator from start to house batteries ($100)
- Titled, registered, insured as a RV in Florida ($1000+-)
-4.3 cf mini fridge ($120)
-two 30 amp RV extension cords ($80 each)
-120 amp circuit breaker box installed
-30 amp shore power hook up ($50)
- Rooftop AC ($300)
-generator hook up
-large Carefree Awning ($500)
-Custom Rv door with locks ($400)
- Custom build cabinetry ready for laminate or paint (cabinet maker as family profession)
-Atwood stove top ($100), 30 gallon fresh water tank($60), 115v water pump ($80)
- 3 separate side storage bays
-dark bamboo flooring available, stainless steel sink
-2" inch rubber mating for storage area
-lots to list, Not including all of the hours of work involved as well as help from master electrician
The bus has been completely gutted. Seats, Bus rubber, and old insulation have all been removed. Angle grinded the floor/seats, treated for rust, and painted with rustoleum rust preventer. Reinsulated entire bus. Vapor barrier, insulation, sound deadening board, and subfloor installed.
Ceiling has been reapplied and painted bright white. Electric has been run throughout with room for outlets wherever wanted. Bus has been sealed for any and all leaks on exterior. 1000's of rivets have been removed. Windows have been sealed with weatherstripping. Hundreds of hours have been put in!!
The bus isn't completely finished! But, all the hard has been done and just needs your finishing touches.
We're very confident that if you do your research, that our bus stacks up with the very best of them!
$16,500 obo

I wish it were a tad closer. At this price I don't think we could do FL.

Had posted on the facebook site for skoolies, but forgot to post here.
Family is a wonderful thing, we were able to borrow some money and just settle with the medical bills for a far less amount! Pretty tapped out money wise and just entered my last semester of college so I'm not sure when I'll get to keep converting!

BUT as of now, officially not for sale!! )))))

Might have to rename her to forever bus

Thanks man! I've been looking into vintage puch mopeds, any suggestions?

My girl tore her acl and our deductable was $5,000 from the surgeon and then a couple grand for a surgery center. And of course physical therapy is $50 a session three times a week for a month lol

Roxy works in physical therapy.

On mopeds- the Tomos are a much better buy than Puch but the Puch are cool and have a huge collector status thing going. If you can find a clean good running puch anything for less than $800 I'd be shocked.
Puch are the vintage vw's of the moped world. Kinda. Can't really go wrong with one!

are Mopeds a better way to go than a little 50cc scooter? ive been looking for something to buzz around from say downtown st pete to the beach, etc... if I stay under 50cc I dont have to get a motorcycle license..

I'd look for something like a 49cc honda.
Mopeds are different than scooters, even though scooters CAN technically be mopeds, if that makes any sense.
If you get a true moped, they're great for being simple and light.
If you like to tinker with things a moped is great.

I totally love to tinker.. but my Tinker-Tools are in Ohio and I plan to ride in florida...

I havent yet decided where the Bus will live.. I have indoor storage in ohio.. have to find a covered lot in florida to put it.. I can foresee over the winter at least a couple Key-west trips from st pete in the SKoolie would be a blast!

a moped I could probably get inside the bus pretty easily.. a scooter im not sure... Id have to devise a ramp and a winch like they do for motorcycles..

Get a small moped, then. You can fit every tool to fix a moped in a hand or two.

Most mopeds are good for around 30-35.

Exactly.

My green Targa has been gps'ed at 52 but I've tuned it to a top speed of around 47-48 with nice torque.
