1996 Bluebird Skoolie For Sale - $8000

1996 Bluebird (Cummins/Allison) school bus equipped as camp for sale. Bus has clear title and Louisiana tags with 150k miles. Bus comes with 7000 watt generator, 2 air conditoners, mini refrigerator, full-size bed, two twin beds, sleeper sofa, built-in dining table and kitchen counter, 4 new tires, 2 year Louisiana inspection sticker and transferable plates. Asking $8000

Bus is located in Pollock, La. We are a retired couple who planned to use this Skoolie to travel the US. It is more bus than we can handle and have decided to sell and go with something smaller. You can message here or email me at cjthorne11@gmail.com.

I am sorry, I was wrong about the engine...it’s a 3116 Caterpillar engine with an AT545 Allison Transmission

That's what truck repair shops are for. Being a 1996, this one is a lot easier to swap a more worthy engine into. Believe me, you don't want anything built after about 2008. DPF and DEF issues are no fun.

Hell- nothing after 2003/2004 is worth a damn.

So buy an old $2500 school bus with a bit of rough framing and used house furniture tossed into it for 8K and then swap a better engine /trans into it after in hope of making it good???

Sorry, but that doesn't sound smart or cost effective in any way, shape or form IMHO.

Honestly it is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. That being said it is not realistic to recoup all the money you have in it. Not saying it is not possible but not as likely.
