1998 37' Blubird RE 8.3 3060 in Denver (x2)

Selling bus 9841 from the Jefferson County School District
1998 Bluebird with Cummins 8.3 250HP and Allison MD3060. This bus has an air ride suspension and is 37' long. There are 215,000 miles on the clock and the engine and transmission all operate very well. The front tires have 50% left and the rears are at 30%. There is almost no rust on this bus and overall it is in clean, great shape. This is a desirable engine/transmission combo and the MD3060 features a locking torque converter with unlockable 6th gear for double overdrive and improved highway mileage and reduced engine wear. Combine that with the air suspension and you have vehicle that will be very comfortable cruising on the highway--much more so than the buses from 30 years ago!
Feel free to call with any questions--I have 2 of these buses and one 40' rear engine bus too and could work a deal for both or all of them.
Happy Bussing,
good luck charlie

Being from Colorado is the transmission a MD3060R as in
a retarder added to the back of the transmission for all
the long hills.

Same bus as my new one, but in Mint shape.

Mine is rusty like everything around here.

Being the bus is a 98, is the engine mechanical, or electronic? It's right at the thresh hold of the change over.

The two 37 footers DO have the retarders. Neither has an hours meter, which is a bummer.
Interior ceiling height is 76" on all the buses.
All the buses will do 70mph
The miles on 9848 is actually 220k and on 9841 (the other 37') is 215k.
All the buses also have air seats.
All the engines are fully mechanical.

The 40' has been running hot, and despite a new radiator and t-stat I cant get it to cruise at anything other than 220*
It's never boiled over, but 220 is too hot for me and the bus is too long for the route we were hoping to use it on.

Hey Dond,
I know where the hours meters are. The 40' bus has one, the 37'ers dont.
Please read more carefully!

Man, I wish I had some extra funds lying around. These are great. I'd jump on a mechanical 8.3 with 3060 and retarder!

Yes, that is the 40' bus for sale. The 2 37' buses dont appear to have hour meters on them.
If someone can tell me where to check, I will! But ive looked in the engine compt and only found an oil pres gauge.
