That's not what the VIN decoder says. What does it say on the data plate?

VIN decoders can be wrong, but I've never seen them get the engine wrong.

Is that a Saf-T-Liner or a Transit Liner? Where is it? (For example, all CO buses like that had Telmas, a huge plus.)

Someone we talked to on her said he called Thomas and they told him the engine was a Cat engine. My my husband did the vin decoder it also said Cummins engine. I am going to do some research myself.

Look at the data plate.

What does that say?

Oh, and a CAT engine will be painted yellow.

A nice candid camera shot of the engine would answer the question.

I asked the husband for pics of the engine and data plates last night. I will post whenever I get them.

From what I was told via phone call last night:
- "non skoolie bus so it hs highway gears"
- "will do 70mph"
-"miles are correct as it was used as a shuttle bus"

Another question I thought about is this, If miles are original and used as a shuttle bus how many hours are on the engine? For you others would this bus even have an engine hour meter and if so where would this be located? Im thinking this bus may have spent its life dinging short runs and idling a lot. But i guess we will see.

Visually verifying is really the only way to be sure. Parts get changed out. Pix will help.

I am waiting on pics to verify anything the seller has stated as far as the engine or trans. Not sure why it has been so difficult to get pics. I spoke with the husband over the phone and wife via email. Even posted the pics for them that they did send. Just waiting on more info

We are 15 min away and I tried several times to go look at the bus before we purchased ours, the guy told me he was just scrapping it out. What a shame..
