2002 Bluebird TC2000

I,m helping a local church school sell this bus. They wanted to junk it but it,s too nice.

2002 BB tc2000, 32ft
5.9 cummins, allison At545.
body in very nice condition
They took it out of service because it was "getting tired". It has been sitting for about 2 years , I put a battery in it and it started right up. sounds nice.
Will not come with a battery . I will be bringing it home next week and will get pics and be checking it out for the mechanicals.

This would be a nice bus for a schoolie.

Will be asking about $3000/offer depending on what I find wrong. trying to get it.s history.
It,s located in Port angeles, wa. While it runs and drives I recommend having it towed till it's fully checked out. I work for a towing company so towing can be arrainged

Email me with questions. 90navistar@gmail.com

If it wasn't on the other side of the USA, I would buy it.

This was before I pressure washed it, Looks a bit better now. I have taken 2 of the emergency exit windows, may take the other 2 but there will be bus windows in their place. The only broken window is in the back emergency exit and some gold spray paint in places.
I have a lead on a new back window.

The asking price is $3000.00 but totally open for offers. I will not discuss price till you look at it. I want you to know exactly what you are paying for.

BTW. While it ran and shifted well, I know little of it's history, so keep that in mind.

It looks pretty good by the photos. That's interesting how the isle is off center and the seats are smaller on one side.

That's not a 2002.

I believe it's either an '89 or a '90, based on the front end design.

VIN identifies it as a 2002. They used this style from about 99-04.

I dont' see how it could be a 2002, if its got a 12v Cummins.

That was the first thing I noticed, too.

Cummins ceased production of the 6BT in '98.

Nope. This's a picture of a '99 front end. Note the hinged panels with latches that the turn signals and wipers are mounted to...

Those panels were introduced on the TC2000 in '92 and stayed in production until the TC2000 model was discontinued in 2003. Any TC2000 without those panels is an '88 through '91.

The '88 TC2000 didn't have the rectangular amber lights just inboard of the headlights. Those were introduced in '89.

The '91 TC2000 is easy to spot because of the funky (aka ugly) flip up grille design...

So that narrows yours down to either an '89 or a '90.

There're also some elements of the interior that preclude it being a 2002. Starting in '93, the shifter was placed on the right side of the steering wheel instead of the left, and in '02 the control panel under your left arm was switched to a newer design with rocker switches.

You should probably look for a different VIN decoder.

Except your headlight bar still had the black stripe across it, right?

'99 was the first year they didn't have the black line.

It has come to my attention that I may have been given the wrong title and thats where I got the year. Might be more of a 94. I will find out the facts tonite and correct the year. I didn't even make the connection about the 12 valve engine. They used the 24 v by 2002. Thanks for catching that folks!

I'd call it a huge blessing in disguise, as a mechanical, simple bus is way better than a bus with a half ton of wiring and computers. Ask me how I know.

i had to go out and look, but no, mine does not have the black headlight bar. i have a non-standard paint job as my bus was a 1993 bookmobile.

i don't think my bus was ever school bus yellow, its a faded yellow i call "primrose".

Very interesting. It doesn't even have a black bumper.

That's really good that you caught that before you signed that title over to a buyer. That might've been a serious headache to get straightened out.
