40' Amtram RE 2000 DT466/MD3060 85+MPH -- For Sale

Hello, I bought a bus to convert, life and divorce later I'm now letting it go to allow someone to be able to enjoy it. Anyway here are the specs.

2000 International / Amtram 40' RE, DT466E HT (250hp), MD3060 trans, rear air ride, underbody storage boxes, I replaced the rear end, now in 6th gear you cruise 80-85mph no problem. About 130k miles.

This bus came from Orlando FL, drove it home to WV, I swapped the rear end, took a church group rountd trip to Orlando. I have not converted the bus other than adding a midship heater, took out a few seats, ungraded the stereo/speakers/wiring and added 12v outlets along the driverside all the way back for the church trip. I also replaced the drivers side kingpin with a Keyser (stainless steel and life time). Installed a 200amp alternator as well.

The body is very clean, it's a regular hight bus, took about 1-2yrs to find a bus I liked and wanted to convert. I drive truck, I know what to look for and what to avoid. This bus is very easy to work on, everything is easy to get to, with common parts and zero emissions.

Just had the bus out for a drive a few weeks ago, I really do enjoy how this bus drives and handles. Very quite, smooth and quick.

I'm asking $8k, I have twice that invested. I am flexible on price, I'm able to deliver for an added cost. I can pick a buyer up at Pittsburgh PA no charge. This is currently a CDL bus. Send me a message or call me if interested 304 Six98-Two699.

Extras not installed but included: New Air Compressor with new air dryer guts, Passinger Side king pin, Air Brake exhaust valve.

For $300 I also have a Big Rig Truck Seat- New in Box.

Your making me want to ask for an advance on my yearly allotment from my mother. Her financial guru told her to start giving the max a year allowed without being taxed. I have used every penny to pay off my home. I am sick of my property and home. Time to get SMALL. I don't want to seem greedy. Just whining. Darn that didn't make me feel any better at all. lol

It mounts to the buses existing air ride base. As long as you already have air seat, it's a simple swap, same for the seat bases that use spring or hydraulic shock.

The DT466HT 250hp/ 800ftlbs torque is a little different than Non-HT versions. This is one of the things that caught my eye. You can read more about it here: https://www.schoolbusfleet.com/forum...?TOPIC_ID=7126

No A/C. I have a new 30 gallon side tank (for sale $50) I was going to mount that to the frame to power a Generator. Then use either roof tops or a different type of A/C. With the tinted windows, I was very surprised how much heat was blocked. Plus with a rear engine bus, your not getting the heat soak and noise thru the floor that makes a huge difference.

Thank, it's sad they don't do much at the Trip farm lately. This summer the paved the road all the way from Terra Alta to the interstate. I've never known it to be so smooth in all my life. ;)

Glad to hear they are still having shows! Yes, I know Cowboy and his wife, I did have a mural in my place that he painted. The ex wanted it painted over... (Warning signs right). Anyways, see them walking thru town and always try to stop and say Hi. Even when I was overseas it was always surprising how many folks knew of little Terra Alta.

It's around 75" floor to ceiling, that's without me going in the bus to measure. Sorry, I didn't see your question sooner. My plan was to remove the plywood/rubber floor and prep the steel deck. Then install a type of foil faced adhesive dynamat (Rockmat) I've used on other cars (blocks heat and noise) then place twin treated 1x3 furing strips down the middle and outer edges with the other areas filled with 3/4" xps foam board (doesn't absorb water) and ultra-ply (or similar) over that. Using the rock mat would allow me to drill a few wall base plate anchors thru the steel/wood 1x3 deck, the butyl rubber would water/ air seal around the ancor bolt.
Others and even OEM's spray foam the underside of bus floors for more insulation.

This was how I planned on converting this floor. The bus is already quite inside, but I wanted super quite ;).

Enough to cover the bus floor is about $300 from Amazon. Rockville RM50RT-S Silver Square feet Rockmat 50 SqFt Butyl Rubber Sound Deadener Bulk Car Kit
