78-Passenger 1988 Blue Bird All-American: Cat 3208/MT643: Carnation, WA

Looking to rehome a 1988 Blue Bird All American school bus. Bubba is built on an International chassis and seats 78 passengers (very small ones) in 13 rows of seats (52 teenagers or 26-52 adults, depending on how friendly they are).

At 256,xxx miles, Bubba is a diesel pusher and runs on a CAT 3208 10.4 liter 250 hp engine with a 4-speed automatic Allison MT643 transmission. Bubba also has air brakes and WA state tabs are good through July 2016.

Bubba also sports 4 under-bus storage compartments and an air horn that plays the train blast of the Siberian Express. The horn used to be louder before it tangled with an overzealous youth pastor with a pressure washer, but it is still loud enough to piss off your neighbors and the car in front of you on the highway. Bubba also has automatic sanders for those less-than-ideal conditions.

Bubba weighs in at 43,000 pounds and gets 6 mpg – city, highway, uphill, downhill, sitting still – and though he is no speed demon, he definitely gets the job done, slow and steady.

Bubba has served us well over the past 7 years, but it is time for him to find a new home.

Asking a rehoming fee of $3,000.

Transposed the 34 into a 43? I don't think you can get a
single rear axle vehicle rated over 40,000.

It doesn't weight 34,000 pounds either. That might be the gross but I doubt it weighs over 25,000 pounds.

A 15 foot frame, rear axle, front axle, and a 360 gas engine came in at 6000 pounds the other day at scrap.

Everything on 3 ton units are heavy.

My Haul All after strip down weighed in at 9500 pounds. It started at 21,000.

I removed 19 feet of body, and 6 feet of frame.
