A/C Units
Who wants inside a/c units? Make an offer and help me get ‘em out. If I keep engine driven a/c I’ll get a smaller inside unit.
I’m in CT.

Think long and hard before you remove a working ac system.
Cooling a moving bus takes a lot of ac!
Christopher will show up soon and give you all the details.
Have fun

Thanks. I do appreciate the heads up. If I keep an engine driven unit I’ll put in a smaller inside unit. Or, I may run a mini split on the road.

Are you getting rid of the entire system or just the evaporators?

At least one whole system, probably both.

those are oretty small.. and im on the bandwagon that if you want to stay cool driving you keep those .. it takes a LOT of BTU to cool a bus... even a small one..
those are nice carrier units.. some of the best made in those years. and parts are still available for them as well..

How much of a hurry are you in? I may be able to help in early March. I have some experience with HVAC and am interested in one or both units if you are wanting to part with them.

David,
I’m not in a big rush. I have off from school April 13-21 and can devote time then. Other than that, I have weekends free. I’m not even sure exactly what I plan to get to get rid of. Also I have no idea what any of this is worth. We can be in touch by text to see if this works for you. I can get any pics you may want.

the brackets May be easiest way is to take good pics of your engine bay before you go up, or drive the bus ands you can compare.. the C7 is a common rail vs a HEUI like the 3126 so the head is different for sure which may affect accesory brackets if any are bolted on.. the factory truck applications with single compressor list the same bracket.. however the dual bracket sets are almost always aftermarket. Carrier often used Bracketry systems on many of their installs.. that company is still alive and well and sells A/C brackets at exhorbinant prices, however you can call to see if the part numbers of the kits for a 3126 and C7 are the same ..

If it helps, here are the compressors. First pic is the lower unit, bolted under the alternator. It is on the common serpentine belt. The other three pics are the top unit with a dedicated belt.

I’d like to suggest a correction. The C7 (if I read its history correctly) changed to common rail in 2007. I have a 2005 with a HEUI system.
