Re: A go anywhere machine

My experience of driving them is that they are Extremely heavy, vary little suspension travel, and realy poor tires. They will go anywhere on the road, through 8 feet deep snow, but mud is there downfall.

I would part it out, and make one of my buses 6 wheel drive. Changing the dual tires for super singles would also realy help.

Re: A go anywhere machine

A close friend of mine had one (bridge truck) and yeah...heavy is an understatement!! His wife decided they needed to demo some out buildings that were falling down and he wasn't getting it done, so she fired it up and went and plowed into them. Drove over every last one and then parked it. No damage to vehicle whatsoever, lmao! He didn't know whether to be upset or amused.

EDIT: Also, one thing that the seller is failing to mention... The width. My friend couldn't legally drive his on the street, unless he went through some process to get an exemption as a collector vehicle. There is a good chance this vehicle would have the same issue in most states. I am just speculating, though.
