Not "stolen", cannibalized. "Hey Snuffy, go to the DRMO yard and find us some spare parts." Done it as well with doors and headlights for Humvees when the budget hasn't been approved yet and we're out of spares

Not a snowball's chance will I purchase something from the sales yard on a military base. The mechanics have first shot at parts. What you end up with is, as ECB put it, a boat anchor. Case-in-point: This yard at Ft Lewis had, at one time, a BRAND NEW car that some sailor had paid for with his ship's emergency money. It was STRONGLY recommended that the vehicle be stored indoors. Nope, Nuthin' doin'. It's a vehicle, store it outside. Well, when it DID sell, about all that was left was the outside of the car.

Ever price out the head and crank on one of those?? The crank on ebay alone is 1800 bucks...... hell some of those pulleys are a hundred bucks as well.
If you have one, and have room to store it for a rainy day..... it could be worth it.

I didn't realize they made the 3126 in such low hp ratings.

Yes, cannibalized is the proper term. Since there are a few people here with Cats I figured this was probably a good block, head and pump. Somebody put a bad turbo on it. It's probably a good block and crank at least and it won't sell for much. You never know who might wish they had a few of the parts that are still on the block. It will go for scrap prices because nobody knows exactly what is missing from it. I've had good luck with this stuff at scrap value.

That horsepower issue is something I've been noticing a lot lately. Is that just bigger injectors and a bigger cooling system to handle the heat?
