Dont know how great a deal this is but did not seem bad for a rebuilt. Thought I would throw it out there.

That's a good deal! I wish that one was around when my AT545 crapped out.

I disagree. You can spend a lot less money and get one rebuilt by the manufacturer.

My understanding is that they no longer offer them, and that LKQ bought their remaining inventory.
edit: in case it wasn't clear, those transmissions are already rebuilt by the manufacturer.

The transmissions in the link are fresh rebuilds from the OEM.
You're getting one that has already been rebuilt by the OEM, not getting one and having it rebuilt by the OEM.

You may need to scroll down to see those as they lump them all together, used next to rebuilds. The fresh rebuilds are the $645 price transmissions.

Poster said it was a good deal. You replied that you disagreed, that you could get one cheaper from the manufacturer. Then you say the factory is no longer doing it.
I think $950 is a great deal. I guarantee you will likely not find, purchase, and rebuild one for cheaper.
Edit: I do see LKQ does have some cheap prices, hard to find a rebuilt auto tranny that cheap.
Figured I'd check their prices for a 3060, high as $5625 or as low as $1326

I'm afraid we're out of sync on this. Please read the last few posts because I think the forum has caused you to miss a few things!

Christopher just got an OEM Reman 643 with reman 2600 rpm T/C for $650. I believe he got it from LKQ.

I was confused because you said Allison would rebuild it cheaper and then you came back with a reply to your own thread stating that Allison won't do it anymore. I got it now.

I just spoke to LKQ. They still have several MT643 rebuilds available for $650. Looks like I'm going to get one to replace the 545 trans in my 95 Genesis Amtram. DT466.
Is there anything I should ask about or request?
Thanks.

If they've got one that can work with my 3126 I'll order one next week.

the ones they have are all 2600-2700 RPM units that were OEM reman by Navistar... the 643 itself is the same.. if your 3126 has a max RPM in that range it will work from a shift point standpoint.. you just need the support equipment as i mentioned...

Yeah I understand that. Time is always the issue here too.
But I'm not getting any younger so the conversion is moving up the list.
I'm wondering if I will need to replace the flex plate as well? I know I'll need to shorten the drive shaft and possibly modify the cross member.
