FOR SALE 2002 Bluebird (OFFICIALLY TITLED MOTORHOME)
2002 Blue Bird MD/HD Trk All American FE AAC3109-3400 5.9L MFI Turbo Dsl 6cyl
*180,000 miles
* diesel
* Cummins engine and Alison transmission
* air compression brakes
* re-titled as motorhome officially
* 36’ long
* no passenger seats
* subfloors still intact, likely some rust on floors. Back door has small rust spot partially fixed. Exposed floor spot is access to diesel tank.
* driveable in great condition. I bought it in 2018 directly from a school district. Meaning it was impeccably maintained as per safety regulations for school busses. I had it evaluated by mechanics to make sure it was road worthy and all found no issues. I drove this bus from New Jersey to washington state this summer and had no mechanical issues! The front drivers heaters are the only thing that doesn’t function and needs repairs. This bus is located in WA state.
Asking $9500 OBO

FYI, you are going to want to update this ad with what engine and transmission the bus has, "a cummins engine and allison transmission" lacks the model specifics 99.999% of the people on this forum will want to know.
Information about maintenance records, and any rust present or repaired will probably also be requested.

any rust issues? I can see some rust in the floor where the plywood has been removed. Can you verify the Allison transmission model?

Someone will still need to know the transmission model. The data plate inside the bus should list it specifically, or it might just have a serial number that you can use to cross ref. on the allison web page.
It will probably read AT545, MT643, MD3060, A1000, A2000......someone that knows bluebirds better then me will be here in a min. to confirm that 3 of the 5 listed were never available on this TC2000 platform in 2002.

Awww, Come on Shelby.... Wouldn't you buy a car based on " Ford engine and Ford transmission"?

The motor is listed in the first line of the reply. At that price does the answer to any of these questions even matter?

I am no Allison expert but I am not sure if a 3000 series had a shifter similar to the one in the picture. Could be wrong.
Also note in the comments in the auction listing. That at time of sale
"Q: Hello size of motor trans size? Is there and overdrive? Is motor governed? Tire condition? Thank you (2/28/18 8:25 PM)
A: 5.9 ISB with a 3000 series transmission. Tire have some tread, there is governor and no overdrive (3/1/18 9:44 AM) "

Haven't seen a 3000 series with anything other than a push button digital shift. Says no overdrive, it's a 545.

I did a significant amount of work to the bus after I bought it from auction. There are a lot of requirements of modification to change the title which took a lot of work. That is why the price is higher than what I bought it for.

Might want to add those specific upgrades/modifications to the ad. As a newbie to the forum myself I can tell you I have learned two things from this forum in my short time here.
1.) Everyone seems to hate the AT545 transmission
2.) This is the worst place to start an account and flip a bus on the same day.

What modifications did you do that would warrant that high of a price? The pictures don't reflect enough work to garner that kind of price. Most of what I see in it will need to be completely removed as it doesn't look like insulation was done. Nor was the rust on the floor. Once you get it back to that stage you're looking at a $2500 bus.

This is a pic. Of the 545 shifter regardless of how/where it's mounted Dont know that they used the 545 in 2002? Thought they quit using them in busses in the 90's. Might be wrong.
An Allison 3000 transmission would be a lot of tranny in a bus with a 5.9 in it?
Just an opinion.

Surprisingly I have seen 5.9/3060 drive trains before. Can't say I've seen a DT466/545 though.

Allison 3000 and the 3060 are completely different trannies?
Why debate my miss type over a bus that no one on here owns yet?
I was posting a pic of the 545 shifter.

They are rare, but a non-push button shifter does exist for the 3060. I'll see if I can find a pic....
