Could you use a bigger tank? I have a 29.2 ga. tank just like that for sale.

Being an American, it is firmly inculcated in my consciousness that bigger is better!

What're it's dimensions, and what would you take for it?
I have 2 20 pounders that don't see much use with shore power at hand. Lighting out for the territories with a big bottle bolted to the belly would be optimal for boondocking.

It's 48" long, still in the box brand new. Runs $500+ new. I have it listed for $435, I'd take $400 for it.

Howzabout width and mounting points? Got similar flanges on top?
I have no understorage compartments, so will have to gin up a way to suspend it. Original plan calls to frame in a compartment behind RR tires to stow my little bottles. I'll need to check dimensions again, but should ought fit, especially after re-routing the tail pipe.
(Thems some propane accessories I could get behind!)

The ribs running side to side on the floor are spaced perfectly for the 48" bolt spacing on the tank. I removed the tail pipe from the left rear of the bus, mounted the tank to the ribs and then cut in an access door for it.

That is the exact spot I've had in mind all along. 4' worth of tank will fill that soon-to-be void very nicely. Particularly since my propane hose is already routed out behind the shotgun tires.
Are the holes 48" center to center? If we get a spate between the squalls (2.7" ppt just this afternoon!) before Sunday, I'll grab my snorkel and measure me some exact rib #s.

In one of the pix you posted on my thread, it shows the ribs on your bus look like the letter, "U." On mine, they look like a capital H that got tipped over.
If still upright, dimensions of the H are:
Top to bottom: 9.25"
Bottom of 1 H to top of next: 6.5" (open gap)
From 1 leg of H to the other: 2 3/16" (headspace)
So, on that last, would bolts @ that size be long enough to secure the tank? I should ought be able to do the install from either end, underneath. If longer's needed, I suppose I could drill larger &/or angled holes.
Where'd you score that sweet door?! If I can't put a fill fitting in the wall, or it isn't recommended, I gots to get me one of them! [emoji41]

The tank mounting holes are on a 48" center. You've lost me on your dimensions, post a pic.
Door was $18, shipping was $22.88. I got it for the locking feature before I was informed it's illegal to lock access to the propane tank.

Yeah, I didn't think it was translating. Plus, I was working from scribbled notes from a different aspect, and boogered 'em all up any way. (At least headspace was correct!)
Picture's worth a thousand words and all, so here's sev'l it's worth...
1) H's from side
2) Headspace between legs. [Bolt thru plate.]
3) The only # I got right from those sketchy old notes! (Reckon that 1/16" plate will suffice? Thinking so... (do you know it's tare & full wieghts, btw?)

Bummer about the extraneous, illegal lock. Harder for a punk to kite this tank then those 20 pounders...
