Re: I have lots, LOTS of bus parts, and advice

Any chance of finding a 12 or 16 light indicator panel? It's the thing on the dash panel that lights up to show you what lights are doing what on your rig. Mine off of a 1990 Thomas (International chassis) shorted out on me. Also, a set of turnsignals and brake lights for the rear would be nice to locate...

Re: I have lots, LOTS of bus parts, and advice

I have been researching some larger motorcoaches but really like the look of the Crown bus. Any advice for someone in Ontario Canada wanting to convert a single rear axle bus from the mechanics perspective. I would want a bus that has power, drivetrain dependability and an automatic transmission that can do some long highway hauls at a fair pace and modest maintenence costs. Understandably maintenance and initially bringing the bus to todays standards are utmost... Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I am interested in purchasing a crown bus for my new tubing company. If anyone has any for sale, please let me know.

I have a huge inventory of parts, and a good mental inventory and network of folks to help rare parts get found, how to get repairs done cheaply, I been doing this stuff for 17 years.

You need a part, or some advice, just give me a ring.

Hello Patrick,

I'm looking for a donor bus to complete an engine conversion. I'm looking for a '93 DT466 package to swap out a DTA360. I note 1993 as that is the year of the vehicle but the main concern is that it's a mechanical, pre-electronic ride currently.

Do you have any related items in your inventory?

Thanks

Interested in a 1974 ih loadstar.
It's extremely hard to find specific information thru the forums, but I'm slowly finding everything.

I'm looking at picking this bus up in a few days.

Here's what I know, it was owned and maintained by a Nevada Baptist Church.
It's got the mv404 with a 4spd, but I don't know anything about the specific 4spd it has and I'm having a hard time figuring it out.

I'm attaching a photo, it has 11 windows and is clear of rust.
Runs great, carb was rebuilt or updated 400 miles ago.

Give me anything pros and cons you can think of before making the deal?
Gas mileage, quality model?, Reliability, anything helps.

Thanks!

Austin and Lieke.

Yeah. Fuel economy - none. Expect between 3-4 MPG on the road and a top speed somewhere around 50, on flat ground. Uphill, 2nd gear (if it's steep). For something you plan to park long term and rarely (if ever) drive it'll be OK but I wouldn't want to cruise the country in it ... and probably couldn't afford to. Also, IH gas engine parts are getting hard to find since they've been out of production for many years, so good luck if you break down on a Friday evening ...

Hello,

I have a 1986 Ford/Ward with a Ford 429/385 Big Block. Power steering system seems to have too much friction somewhere... Belt is tensioned as much as I dare. Still get some slipping/squeaking when approaching full deflection. Belt is brand new. Old one had some missing teeth.

Wondering if I'm going to need to replace the power steering pump. Fluid level is good in the current one.

Had the front end jacked up recently, and was able to turn the tires easily with the engine/pump running using the steering wheel.

Any advice is very appreciated, thank you!

Do you by chance have a door that would fit a 1956 Ward school bus, I also need the drivers side window frame. Any help or suggestions on where to find these would be appreciated.
Thanks!
