I've already decided that finding my perfect bus is going to be like finding a unicorn, and this one was sooooooo close I'll settle for something decent in my price range, but if I ever do catch that critter, I'm naming it Rainbow Sparkly Farts.

Keep an eye on Southern California. I have a friend in Marysville who is a good mechanic. He tells me through some other friends in the school bus business California is getting ready to let go a bunch of good buses either this fall or early spring. PM me if you're interested in further info.

I got my unicorn (seems that's all I ever own now-a-days, 1986 M1031, 2005 F350 diesel crew cab with extended utility bed, 2014 Transit Connect XLT with a navigation feature as the ONLY luxury, 1988 F600 30' with hydro brakes, and 1989 Thomas with all the bells and whistles) this summer from Wasco, CA. The California schools tend to keep their buses in better shape than average. My rust-free '89 was $2K, if you include the flight, food, hotels, service, and fuel, it was just under $3,500 to Katy, TX. I had stowed away $4,200 for the whole thing.

My wife and I were looking for this bus for about 3 years. But we're noticing how more of these buses were available from CA this year. Let the "green" idiots provide you an awesome bus!
