looking for a "NEW" bus

I found a guy who really wants to buy my jacuzzi bus....but i am just not sure if i want to sell it. I offered to build a new bus for the buyer built to his specifications. Jacuzzi and all.

He doesn't know anyting about buses (neither do I) but i'm now trying to find a good bus for him to buy so i can do the conversion.

i am looking for a bus with a 5.9 cummings or a DT466/mt643, or a crown.

someone in new hampshire had a dt466/6 speed manual crown on ebay, but, the auction ended early. Probably sold. Looked like a pretty cool bus. Only problem is, you better be pretty smoove with your clutch foot or that damn jacuzzi is goona be half empty before long.

people make excellent baffles. Nothing keeps water in the jacuzzi while moving down the road like a few people!

I have a bit of a question about those Crown by Carpenter buses. I've heard rumor that there is a whole lot of Wayne bus in those things with Crown and Carpenter only being names attached to it to sell them. This would have been after Wayne had closed its doors, but the tooling and everything was still around. The roof profile on them is distinctly Carpenter as compared to a Wayne, but I've never looked to see if they have the continuous panels or leaky windshields like a Wayne.

i don't want a carpenter bus....i want a crown like you see on the west coast This particular one is a 1952 according to the caption. It doesn't really look much different than a 1982 if you ask me.

It looks like a wheeled twinkie if you ask me. Talk about art-deco. I think we'd all like one.

The biggest difference between the 52 and the 82 is the windshield. The 52 has a smaller windshield than the 82.

The next difference is the flashers. the flashers on the 52 are smaller than the 82.

The last difference that I can see is the vent door. On the 52, the vent door is on the driver's side, while the vent door on the 82, is in the middle.

I love my Crown and wouldn't trade it for any other skoolie.

If you do want a Crown, you'll have to go to the west coast.

Talk to Pat, he should be able to fix you up.

BTW, a Crown will get an honest 9 - 10 mpg, is as smooth as a caddy, and will not sway when a semi passes. I know, I drove mine from Cali to Houston.

They also have a GVW of about 32,000 lbs.

How can you tell if a Crown is coming or going???

You can't, because both ends look the same.

You still looking? I see that Sonny Merryman still has 26 Thomas school buses for sale at $2,000 each... All are listed as 1990 models, most have the Detroit 8.2L turbo, one is listed with the Cummins 5.9 and three are shown with the Cat 3208...

They are located in Lynchburg Va...bit of a drive but may be worth it for ya!

I have mine for sale. 1990 Thomas. International chasis. Turbo DT360(turbo and intercooled). Allison auto. Has 180,000 miles on it. Runs and drives great. Doesnt leak. I have 22.5s for it. No rust. I would like to get 2,500 obo for it. Dont want to sell it but with a bad knee and not working I gotta sell it to keep the house. It also gets 12-13 mpg cruising. Let me know if you are interested and I will get you some pics.

Dan
