Most of the hard work is already done!
Save hundreds of hours of labor and research and lots of money.
This bus originally came from the Portland School district and was bought by a man in Eugene who sold it to us last July, the bus was retired sometime in 2016.
It only has 120K and drove beautifully down to Grants Pass. Here’s some info:
1997 40ft International flat nose rear engine. T444E diesel.
Automatic snow chains and sanders.
Air brakes.
New tires.(Tires are expensive and can run several hundred dollars a piece)
Already registered as an RV with the DMV, which means that you do not need a CDL!!!!(This was already done when we got it and it saved us a ton of headache!)
Certified mechanic replaced serpentine belt and harmonic balancer, and cleaned the radiator January 2018.
Oil changed October 2017. Bus comes with oil change kit
Remember that PB blaster is your friend if you ever do future oil changes yourself lol.
It is gutted so that means that we took out all the seats. The walls, floor, and ceiling are all gone too! I would recommend resealing the windows if you are going to keep them and we can give you butyl tape and some adhesive to do that!
$1500 paint job. The roof is painted with BUS KOTE, which offers thermal protection, and resists mold and mildew and seals and protects the roof.
The heaters are already taken out and the heater tubes rerouted!
We will provide all receipts and offer advice from the research we have already done on things like spray foam, floor installation, installing locks, installing furring strips etc.
One neat thing about the bus is that it has two large storage bays underneath the emergency door which can hold a gray water tank if it is reinforced.
Rear engine buses offer the most room and are quieter when driving down the road.
The bus includes some caulking, sand paper, and adhesive.
$8,500 and you can hit the ground running!
