That would make an interesting project. I can't figure where it would have been in a flood unless it came from Louisiana. Parked it in the wrong place at low tide?

Can you imagine what the inside looks like after being flooded. What a project.
There's plenty of other old Eagles out there in much better shape for not much more money.

Eagles were very popular in their day, rivaling only MCI for sales in the motorcoach industry.

There was one on Craigslist somewhere in Colorado, apparently it was one of the very first Eagles sold in the US, it was built in Belgium and shipped over.

Chris, when I opened your 'old gasser' link, I can't tell you how happy I was that you hadn't posted any pictures of me.

Thanks.

Not a skoolie, but would make a nice conversion...

It's about 15 minutes away from me. If anybody's considering bidding on it, I can go check it out if you'd like me to.

Apparently someone was able to make a good sale on the coach seats. This one looks newer inside than it does outside, but what a color choice. I fantasize about having a basement like that.

Rameses; I was wrong the other day. I don't have six lug wheels, they're eight. I'd been out messing with the old bus wheels which are six.

Occasionally I browse Copart for junked buses and found this rather interesting 1950s Gillig. Appears to be an older conversion with a raised roof in the rear section.

Looks like it was an impound because it still has piles of the PO's junk in the back. Looks a lil nasty!

High roof, mechanical 8.3, and an MD3060...

That's a nice bus, and carb compliant.

I thought '97 was the last mechanical year?

I didn't think a mechanical engine could talk to a 3060

I'm not sure when production of the mechanical 8.3 stopped, but the mechanical 5.9 was built until 98.

No, they put the 3060 behind plenty of mechanical engines. All they had to do was add a throttle position sensor.

I've always thought this bus deserved an 8.3.

Do the swap. That would be a pretty unique bus. The TC1000 was never offered with the 8.3.

You would need faster gearing though. The 8.3 doesn't turn as many rpm as the 5.9 does.

Good to know. That would have been a letdown to have done all that work for lower rpm's.

I've noticed different hp ratings in the 5.9. Is that mostly injectors?

Injectors, pump settings, turbo setup, there're a lot of variables that factor into it.
