That's a hell of a jump in torque!!

Wonder what that does to mpg. Since I'm only at 7 mpg I might be willing to drop to 6 for better uphill climbing. Injectors probably aren't cheap tho. No clue on how to turn up pumps either.
If it's the vp44 you need to buy a hot rod pump. I don't think you can "turn them up"
And make sure you have a lift/fuel pump (air dog or similar system) to match the increased flow.

It's not. It's the Cummins CAPS pump.

Also, with that injection pump, the lift pump only runs very briefly until the engine starts and then the CAPS pump sucks its own fuel.

I have looked very closely at the vp44 (because that's what I have lol) so I know nothing about the common rail pumps.

No, it isn't common rail either. Haha

The ISC didn't go common rail until 2003.

Except I have a vp44 in a motor that was manufactured in 2006 for a bus that was manufactured in 2002. And they continue to put the vp44 on 24v until late 2006 if the customer spec'd them

Sure. I have a 2003 with a VP44.

But that, like yours, is an ISB. The ISC never used the VP44. The CAPS pump on the ISC looks kinda like a VP44, but they're completely different pumps.

Geeks.

I've no idea what I have and if it requires more than a screwdriver to literally turn something up, it ain't happened. Now when things start to break then I'll look at it in a serious light.

Dang that was a good deal. I hadly ever check Ebay. Maybe I should do that more, but at the same time I seem to be spending quite enough money already with my GD and PS addiction.

It has a bad transmission would make it a little difficult to get home. What you saved in purchase price you would have made up for in telling and putting a trans in it

Minor detail. (Which I totally missed. Haha)

Still a good deal, though. But you're right about it making the pickup endeavour more challenging. I'd be tempted to throw a replacement transmission in the back of a pickup truck, get a wrecker to drag the bus to a parking lot someplace, and swap the transmission there and drive it home with the pickup behind it. Sounds easy enough, right? What could possibly go wrong?

With a 40 foot bus, a short bus, and a cargo van I think I'm pretty well covered for now.
We're making a bit of progress toward having a bus lot though.

too bad everyone in society is "sue happy" or it would be fun to create a bus "Maker space".. where people could store, rent tools, work on, collaborate, repair, etc their busses... but im sure theres so much liability BS to go through for something like that it could never happen.

Yeah, I know, right?
I paid a neighborhood kid to help me load up the tree I cut down and he pinched his finger rolling a giant log up onto the trailer. I instantly thought "damn I hope he didn't just break his finger in my yard".

You can still do it.
Just have them sign a waiver. Basically they wave all rights the moment they step into the property.
Many outdoor attractions do this.
