Any thoughts on comparing these two for the purposes of moving across country and living in while mostly stationary in cold climate?

I kind of like the skoolie for a blank slate, but the flxible is seriously cool, and ready to go (albeit a bit dated interior). What am I missing?

I'd say that Thomas is pretty tired looking for that price.
The Flxible is a classic.

The Flxible may well be equipped with the Allison 730 and "city" gears. If so, it may not be the best highway rig.

Get more info from the seller. Which Allison transmission? What rear end gears? Mechanical condition? Tires?

I'm kinda worried about rust too, seeing what it does to anything ferrous around here... I wouldn't think NJ would be much better, and KY has less road salt but same humidity. Obviously have to check undercarriage thoroughly before buying...

My KY bus is rust free for the most part.

If you want a Bus with little or no rust then Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Arizona are the places to look. These Buses ending in the next couple days (Beware these Buses might have hurricane / flood damage):
