The rust all looks treatable and I don't see anything that looks like rust through. All of the body panels look to be in good condition. None of the floor strings look like there is any rust on them.

The T444E is not going to be a big HP engine in this bus. 210-235 HP is most likely. Even with the MD3000 series transmission it isn't going to be a fast bus. In this case it isn't a case of not having enough rear gears to go fast but enough HP to make the bus go fast. I would guess top speed is going to be in the 60-65 MPH range and it will fall off pretty fast on any hill.

The bus has the 9" windows so it isn't the high roof model.

It is a 10-row bus so overall length is going to be less than 35' long.

This looks like the upgrade shifter some people are looking for.
It's been taken down.

Navistar's answer to the TC1000. Much beefier, IMO.
If it were closer to me I'd bid, even with the 545.

Actually that's not a copy of the TC1000. It's a copy of the short version of the TC2000. That has 22.5 tires and the driver's side midship exit just like the TC2000.

High headroom, straight, looks rust free, has a good engine. I'd pounce on that up to about $3000 or so if I were bus-less and shopping right now.

Okay guys, i'm butting in here! I have been searching and searching for a bus on the auction sites and I think I just need to bid. I have had my eye on this one and a few others... looking for a bus 30 ft. or less (30 is definitely on the large side). I am not very savvy with diesel engines/transmissions, but judging from your reactions this seems like a decent bus. I noticed these sites have very little information regarding service history and I definitely cannot go see the bus in person before I bid.... whats your experience with purchasing from the auctions? any help is appreciated!

If
I didn’t already have a full size Genesis I would be bidding on this bus 🚌. 👌👌

Genesis is a GREAT bus to convert.
I had one, and LOVED it.

So the other bus I'm looking at is... https://www.govdeals.com/index.cfm?f...35&acctid=8151 ...
A 2007 Saf T Liner C2 bus, 48 passenger. It more costly, however it seems like a great deal and better for road tripping vs. the Genesis? Thoughts/experience with the C2 buses? Also, my husband wants a shorter bus than 30 ft. so that is strike one for the Genesis :P

I'm telling you guys, this style of bus is maneuverable in tight spots like no other bus I've ever driven. It's not my favorite bus to drive on the highways, as I still prefer shorties on the road, but this gets me though tight parking lots easily. That doesn't stop some mook from parking 8" away from your service door so you can't get back inside though. There is a large number of people with a mean sense of humor.

I think my driving experience will get better after I have the front end worked on.

"sense of humor"

Carbide-tipped keychain might help.

If you have questions about the bus you can contact the seller. From the info in the auction, consider these things.

Plus: Washington bus, likely rust free.
Plus: Likely good heat.
Plus: 466 engine
Plus: Reasonable mileage for its age
Plus: Wheelchair lift
Plus: High ceiling
Plus: Price isn't too high yet

Minus: No Air conditioning!
Minus: AT545 transmission

Maybe Minus: Wheelchair lift is in the middle of the bus
Maybe Minus: Washington isn't close to anything except Washington!

How do you know it has a high ceiling? I have a hard time finding actual dimensions of buses I'm looking at. Is it just a known fact for the Genesis buses?

Thanks for your two cents. I'm in CA and there seems to be limited selection in my area right now. I want to avoid traveling far for a pick up.
