And that just might mean a super deal for someone who knows what it is and he doesn't. Might be a good deal because people who might be interested but won't follow up won't be involved. Those type situations are where the best deals are. The asking price is not at all out of line, if it could be negotiated a bit, could be a sweet shorty for someone considering the prices of shorties lately.

Its not a bad looking bus for the money, but I'd hate to be stuck with an 8.2.

Nice looking bus! That is tempting. The 855 is still fairly straightforward in terms of parts availability?

Belay that last. I still had the 18 grand figure in my head, left over from that sweet looking '61 in another CL ad.

330hp from a 3126 would destroy a 2000 in a bus.

And I doubt that 3126 is a 330hp variant doesn't seem like an FE thomas has the cooling capacity for that kind of power. The 2000 series Allison is common in that era of bus so I believe that part of the ad.

Yeah, I'm sure it is a 2000.
But the 2000 isn't rated anywhere close to the output of a 330hp 3126.

I think that it is a beautiful bus. Unfortunately I don't have $56k

Hey, maybe I should start a GoFundMe page?

Good catch CB.

Most of us would not have caught the discrepancy.

Thank you for looking out for us.

Just call em like I see em, man!
Unless they swapped engines or something I'm inclined to believe it could just be a valve cover from a 330 hp Cat.
There's NO way that a school bus would come with that hp/tq version and if it did it would have come with something much beefier than a 2000!

Aren't buses built to customer spec and any combo of engine tranny could possibly be found from the manufacturer. Is it just possible the seller knows what he has and is telling the truth? So much speculation with no facts in evidence.

I bet 99.9 percent of buses didn't come with a lift kit, so yours must not have one.

NO manufacturer is putting an allison 2000 behind, or in front of, a 330 hp, 860 lb-ft engine.

and now a note from your site team...

Several (more) posts in this thread have have been removed as they are direct insults lobbed towards another member. Name calling and schoolyard razzing are frankly just lame and almost always result in retorts that amp up hostilities - knock it off. Do better. Keep your posts on topic.
