How often do they pop up on those two sites CB?

I look at auction sites for buses all the time, my wife tells me I have a problem. Even though we've owned a bus for over a year now I just can't help myself. I used to do that with cars and trucks now it's buses it appears ya'll have the same "problem"

Was just perusing the local CL ads and noticed that there are now a TON of flippers. Folks wanting ten grand for low headroom buses with Mercedes engines.

So long as it is reasonably attainable...

Blame the “Tiny House” movement fad.

That's exactly what it is.
Shame most of us are so easily influenced by the social media "influencers".

We aren't, I think it's more the general public and young "dreamers" that don't know any better or know about resources like this forum.

Tons of flippers because there are even more suckers who haven't done their due diligence prior to purchase.

When we were at the Georgia tiny house festival, we met a lot of folks who had no idea skoolies were a thing. They were interested in tiny houses but the idea of spending $60k+ on a tiny house and another $60k+ on a truck to pull it was daunting. When you're coming from that mindset, a $20k bus seems like a steal.

Craigslist buses

Hi all, this is my first post here and I just wanted to share some cheap buses I found on Craigslist. I am still saving for my conversion project and am working a lot right now so I won't be going to check any of these out. For 500 bucks its hard to go wrong, and there are 10 of them to pick from, dt466 and 444e engines according to the add. I registered just so I could share these with you all, no, I have nothing to do with any of these buses or auction in case anyone's wondering.

OK then, never mind, it says I have to wait for moderator approval before my two previous posts show up. I'm on nanny watch I guess...

It's funny how people stumble across the "idea" of building a skoolie.

My wife and I were wanted to buy an RV so we could bring the dogs when we travel and she can get up and go to the restroom or whatever just be comfortable. I've been around stuff long enough to know I did not want a gas powered RV, it had to be diesel. After hunting for a diesel RV and realizing it would either have to be old and worn or cost an arm and a leg, I thought well hell my mom's cousin used to live in a school bus, I'm sure there are people out there converting these things. A couple months later we were the proud owners of our very own Diesel powered RV (well it wasn't an RV yet ) My point to the bus thing is, you can get a much better solid built vehicle and do it yourself for a lot less than what it would cost to buy one. I think if we kept track of what we spent on this thing it would chime in around 12k after the full build out, that low of a price for something with brand new everything aside from the drive train compounded with the fact that we could spread that 12k out over a period of a year made it clear we made the right decision.

You have an excellent point there. I am praying to find one in the $5000 range because I am lucky enough to have a mechanic husband and a carpenter brother.

This just popped up nearby. Typically, a better write up & more pix are needed...

$3500 for a 98 automatic, 9 window, with a mere 94k on the clock. (No wager that said clock's still running) Text sez IH, but roof decal declares Crown.

Flipping it 3 months after purchase. The good thing is though it is in Pa. it's from Texas, so probably little if any rust. Oh wait, there's a College Station Tx also, so it's not in Pa. If it was he wouldn't have any issue getting $3500 for it.

Yup, that's my suspicion, too.

I was going to say! Aggyland's about a half hour from me. Are you thinking State College, PA, perhaps?

I am familiar with CS, Pa. Checked and found there is one in Tx also, which is where the bus is. There is also a CS, Ga.
