Not certain that is the same #00 Washington Tandem Crown.
I bet Cowlitz could tell us.

PS- he said he's off for 2 weeks, so he can go look on Mon.
Keep in mind for your budget, it's $80 to use the ferry to get off the island without taking the really long trip off the island.

That is a great bus if you don't mind a stick shift. I don't think it is an OD but it is a Road Ranger of at least 10-speeds. I can't remember if it is a Detroit or a Cummins.

You hit the nail on the head. My brother and his wife know the driver, he is an island Icon, and just did retire from the school system after 30 years of service.
Now my brothers wife wants the bus for a traveling photo studio.

I'll be keeping a weather eye open on this.
Tho I expect da Goose will fly by my limited budget come Cap'n Crunch-time: 3.5 days to go to close, and some damn fools are already in a bid war over it!
22 bids at $2800, as of 1122 y'day AM, for them's thats keeping score.

That's good, only in that now I won't suffer any fleetingly transitory guilt over bidding against ya...

The timing is always off for me on these unicorn buses.
If it were this time last year I'd be in a bidding war against ya.
Lets just hope for your sake that guy Brant doesn't swoop in with Hawaii money and bid it up for whatever he's gotta pay to add it to his collection!

My brother was going to go look at it for me to answer any questions. He is now going to Bend, Ore. until Thurs., auction ends Wed. , so he won't be able to go look at it. I'm guessing it will go for around $6k, which for me would be $8k by the time I got it home.

We're really scraping the bottom of the barrel on the Crowns. Would not be surprised at all if it breaks 10k.

Somebody please slap me! I'm so tempted to bid on this, even though ideally I'd rather have something in the 28-30 foot range. Opportunities to own a Crown are getting rare, and this really is the cream of the crop!
But, with the extra 10+ feet, I wouldn't have the mobility I'm looking for.
So many buses, so little time...

We have listed for sale the Gillig at church again.
The price is pretty aggressive only because it is a seriously nice bus. I would not be afraid to fill it up with a group of kids and drive it from WA to FL tomorrow morning.
This is a rear engine bus with a DT466 and MT643 automatic transmission. It starts with barely more than a full rotation of the starter even if the ambient temperature is below freezing and the bus hasn't been started in a couple of months. Unless it is really cold out it barely smokes on start up and doesn't smoke unless you are really putting your foot in it while climbing a grade.
It has pass through under the floor luggage compartments with two doors on the driver's side and one door on the curb side.
I don't know what size the fuel tank is but I think it is at least 75 gallons and it is at least half full of fuel right now.
Someone make an offer and get a really nice bus!

Not the stock exhaust exited straight out the middle of the bumper. We added the up stack soon after we installed the trailer hitch. The soot from the exhaust was making a mess of the front of the white equipment trailer the church owns.
The mechanics at the repair shop we use found that stack on a parts truck so it didn't cost very much at all. IIRC it was about $200.00 installed for parts and labor.
