Somebody on reddit bought a bus in Texas and got 80 miles from the dealer before the engine exploded. He had to pay a grand to get it towed back to the dealer but he apparently got a full refund of the purchase price (and Texas lemon laws did not apply in his case). Is this unusual or does this happen more than I think? I want to think good things about humanity and this seems like a cool thing for the dealer to agree to.

Do you think they know we have some influence in the bus world and would let everyone interested in a bus to the type of business they conduct. 80 miles from the dealer, it's hard to say the new owner was the issue.

The place was I-20 Auto in Wills Point TX, FWIW. And the price of the bus was (drum roll ... ) $3900.

Price from a dealer makes me think they knew it would blow.

I'd totally buy this if it were within any kind of feasible distance from me.

This is the kind of bus I ultimately want to own.
If anyone wants to drive a 63 Ford school bus from Utah to Fl hit me up!

Yeah, well, all that is obvious. I was being a bit silly, sorry.
I'd have already bid on it but I can't buy another bus at the moment and shipping that lil beast wouldn't be too fun.
Eventually I want to settle in on a nice classic shorty with a really basic gas drivetrain.

As far as the location and delivery, I'm in the same situation as you. I bookmarked that "sweet thang" last night, and have thought a lot about it's road worthiness. I even thought about trailering it to Texas, but DAMN, that's a long haul.

I saw a lowboy semi hauling an old Bluebird TC earlier today, it can be done but I imagine it's expensive unless you can find a trucker looking for a cheap backhaul.
