Just realized the link in your quote was a corrected link

Amazing. I can hover my curser over 2 distinct links on 5004. I just deleted the first one when I quoted it. Sumpin screwy going on with this site.
Tell me about the bike in your avatar?

Custom built, basically like a factory Harley Davidson XRTT. Only their's was only available in 750cc. I replicated it by building an all aluminum 62 XLCH motor to 1327cc. Custom Sputhe single carb heads, 8lb magnesium wheels. Bike weighs 332lbs. extremely rare and valuable.
It's basically like the factory bike pictured, only a slightly different tank and seat. In my pic it has a short street fairing. When set up for racing I have the full fairing from the race bike picture. It's actually a fairing made from the same mold as the factory picture. Was Cal Rayburns bike.

I'm sure it would work great for skoolie purposes though, a Series 60 or a Cummins ISM is a substantial upgrade over anything you can find in a school bus.

Only if you take the interior sheet metal out.
I passed this guys bus lot in Missouri on the way to Thanksgiving. He was reselling the bluebird ICE busses like Neorush has. Looked like he still had one parked there. I really wanted to stop and check out his busses. My wife and screaming children did not... maybe too many hours spent in the car.

A couple of the Red Cross blood mobiles for sale in Texas. According to Bluebird Vantage this one has a C7 and hydraulic brakes
https://www.rbauction.com/2006-blueb...gn=syndication
They also have a 2004 with same specs, I thought the motor would be a 3126 but a quick search on CAT's website says this is a C7.
https://www.rbauction.com/2004-blueb...gn=syndication
They do both have 77 inch headroom plus I'm assuming generators and the other bloodmobile equipment so it saves people a lot of work versus starting from a regular skoolie.

I want this aluminum bumper soooo bad!!! Wish they made one for flatnose buses.

That is a sweet bumper. You could always build one and get a more rugged look out of one. Or head to Texas, I hear those guards run pretty cheap down there even for custom fab jobs. I plan to go down in April and one of my friends already wants to get a nice guard for his truck while we're there so I can ask. Not sure I want the weight penalty tho.

I actually had a Ranch Hand bumper on my old Ford F350. It was a heavy beast but the front end handled it surprisingly well. I'd imagine a full size bus would do ok with one. Especially with a RE bus like mine any extra weight in the front probably helps anyway.

Oh sorry I should have clarified I'm not concerned with the handling and suspension implications. My F-250 came with one when I bought it and it's one of the few things that hasn't given me fits on the truck. Stands up pretty well to dumb entitled teenagers running red lights too.
I'm sure a school bus suspension would handle the weight with no issues. It's the impact on fuel economy to be carrying that much weight everywhere you went that I would more concerned about. Since I'm only getting about 6.5 mpg I'm more interested in shedding weight right now than adding it.

That blood bus is likely very well equipped. Those 4 air conditioners on the roof sugges it will have an onboard generator. One of our friends has a very similar bus, it's got a huge generator based on a cummins 4BT. Not quiet though.

Hopefully it's not one of those sellers that strips all the good auxiliary equipment before selling! Seen that a few times already where people buy those just for the generator since they're worth 2x the bus they're in.

Agreed. Our friends paid a bit more than that for theirs but it was still fully equipped, rust free, and ready to roll out the door. it even has an automatic stair that deploys when you open the side door!
