Auction on GovDeal in Round Rock, TX
Does anyone know anything about this auction in particular, or the advisability of buying at auction? 22 items. I am close and can go look at them on Monday. Does anyone know of a good checklist for a novice?
https://www.govdeals.com/index.cfm?f...timingWithin=1
Thank You, Stephanie

Sweet lil bus, but if its 10 grand I better list mine asap.

WANT TO TRADE FOR SAILBOAT. 25-3o+ pocket cruiser. Will consider vessel in Mexico. May consider “trawler” type diesel boat.

This is a unique take on the asking-way-too-much theme.

Yeah but... imagine if it HAS the Allison 2k and the guy legitimately only wants $10 for it... maybe dreams DO come true...
Also... I'm looking for a pre-2003 International with a DT466 and an MT643 ... in case you like... know a guy or something.

Somebody on reddit just found exactly that bus for $2500, apparently sold by a firefighting company from California. Most likely because of CARB they had to either sell the bus or put a newer engine in it - saving Cali from smog and giving the skoolie community some sweet buses out of the deal!

Nice shorty Freightliner with a high roof Bluebird body in Iowa. Has air brakes and a 5.9 Cummins but also an AT545. Miles kinda high but otherwise it looks great.

Also the first of the D3 All American's are starting to show up at the auctions. Kinda weird since I drove the FE variants of these buses a lot when they were brand new. The engine looks very similiar to the 8.3 ISC in my bus which suggests they didn't change a lot during the emissions era? I know Cummins only had EGR up until 2013.

97 Thomas for sale WA
97 Thomas ~13 window (long bus) for auction in Washington state. Listed in the wrong category for a running bus so no bids in almost a week. Look for motor pool/school bus parts.
This looks to be a mythical activity bus. High roof and underbelly storage. No more info besides "runs" so if interested you can contact the seller. Most buyers probably won't even check this thread so buyer pool is probably small on this one!

Good full size bus in Utah.
https://classifieds.ksl.com/listing/60274888
Cummins ISC 8.3, MD3060. 245k miles.
Looks clean.
Morgan school district has some mountain grades, looks like the bus was speced for that.
I live 30 miles away and could go over and take more pictures, check for rust, give my non-professional opinion, etc.

That's a great price for one. Only thing that would make it better would be factory 78" high roof. Miles are kinda high but it isn't priced out of the stratosphere like other AAREs.
If it's a mountain bus hopefully it has a transmission retarder and/or(!) exhaust brake.

I called him and will go take it for a test drive tomorrow.
Mostly just to compare how my 3/4 length with the 5.9 compares to the 8.3 in a full size.
But I have some friends interested and I could comment on it better if I have already looked at it in person.
A retarder or exhaust brake would be a desirable bonus for sure!
