I'm amazed there's not been any more bids today. It doesn't even look like it has much rust at all. Must have spent much of its time indoors.

On the 4x4? I'd be willing to bet the buyer has not bid yet, none of the serious bidders on this bus will till the last hour. I emailed requesting the reserve price, the are not revealing it at this time. No rust because it's an 09, Calif bus, while from the northern region, no salt roads.

Personally I think anyone that bids on anything with days to go is only raising the price on themselves. Serious bidders wait till the last minutes, so it's not uncommon to have no traffic for days before. The first bidders are usually lowballers seeing if they can get lucky.

Guesses on reserve price on the 4X4?
I'm at $15000
Surprised, even with my thinking, there aren't more bids.

I would not bid on that 4x4 bus. They won't disclose the reserve and will not honor the closing time. Auto-extension auctions are scams.

Auto-extension is pretty much the standard operating procedure these days on the majority of online auction sites.

Not disclosing reserve is common as well and I can understand sellers that don't want to do so. It isn't necessarily a sign that they are scamming people.

Not on the major, reputable ones such as eBay, which is why I don't do business with sites that do that.

Sure, except that combined with auto-extension it *is* a scam. Either stick to the closing time or disclose the reserve. If someone wants my money they can't have it both ways.

It just jumped from $12k to $30k, won't know what reserve was. Some one wants that one bad. Now lets see if that was a foolish bid?
Now this I don't understand at all. The high bidder at $12500 came back in and BID $17500 more. If he had put that $30k bid in proxy, he would still be high bidder until someone outbids his high. Right now he is committed at $30k on a bus he may have had much cheaper.

They are not a scam, they are a way for the seller to get the best bid. It's no different than a live auction where it doesn't end till the bidding stops. It prevents people like me from playing the game. Smart thing to do for a seller. Stay away from Gov auctions then because they all do that.

Unfortunately, if they say there is a deadline and then they arbitrarily extended it when bidders were expecting the auction to end by that time, that is a scam, which is why I buy from auction sites that don't do this.

It's not a scam if they inform you upfront that's how it works.

"This item is subject to an auto
extension of the auction end time."

The winner of this bus probably screwed himself by $10K.

Or more than likely someone trying to see what reserve was and isn't going to pay, it'll be relisted next week.

Give it a rest already. I don't care if it's not scam to you, my wallet decides that, not you, and I go spend elsewhere.

You can lead a horse to water.

There's a 4X4 bus somewhere I saw for 79k. Wasn't anything special. Just a fire transport bus that looked like, well, a school bus with a lifted chassis and a rear in the front.

This bus has been posted for a couple weeks and according to the guy selling it, it's still available. It's in NYC for $5,000. When I reached out to the guy he didn't seem to know much about it but it is a six window so it is too big for us. Anyways, thought someone might be interested so I am posting it here. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...ssenger_banner

Just from those two pics you can see there's going to be a huge amount of rust in the body of that bus, which is typical of NY buses.

Can you guys keep an eye out for a full size bus (pre 2007) with either cummins or international motor. All i have found near me is 2009-2011 IC buses with either the maxxforce 7 (6.4) or the maxxforce DT (7.6L). I'm located in CT. My budget is 3-5k.

That should be easy enough to find with your criteria but I'd look well outside CT. East coast is one of the worst places in the country to buy a bus due to rust and overall market conditions.
