It's been mislabelled as a 2008 maxxforce, but its build date is 10/2006 and the engine is clearly blue... so it might not get many bids if you're looking for a 40 foot conventional.
Anyone going for one of these, make sure to stop by Das Steinhaus while in Jeff City. Outstanding German food there. When possible, if I'm going through Missouri, I'll detour to go there.

1962 all steel Crown available in So Cal

I have a lead on a 62 all steel Crown in Southern California. The seller is getting on in years and the bus currently needs a lot of work including a transmission and roof rust repairs. Bus has a Cummins NHH-220 with smoke (reducing) turbo with a 6 speed syncro transmission (needing repair or replacement).
He has taken this bus to Burning Man several times so if you are a burner you might already know it.
Owner has about $70K in the bus over the years, plus many custom touches, so he isn't going to just give it away.
This is not a quick flip for speculators, nor is it a restoration candidate for the purists. It will take an intrepid buyer(s) willing to put the time, sweat, blood, and money to bring it back to roadworthy. DM me for contact info.

Ha, they actually cover that in the listing. When you buy the buses, you have to give them a check for $24K to cover all the tires. If you return the tires (after driving the buses to wherever you're taking them) within three weeks, they tear up the check. Otherwise, you've bought them.

I didn't get that far in the description. First time I've seen a vehicle sold without tires. I wonder if you get to keep the rims?

Yeah, they said you can keep the rims - they just want the tires back.

These Govdeals sales kill me.

Could they not just start the bidding at $24k so the tires go with?

Someone's gotta really want those buses to jump through all the hoops to get them lol

This isn't a school bus, but this seems like quite the deal for someone interested in a coach chassis.

For those who don't have FB, it's a new listing for an MCI MC-9 for $6500.

Gillig fire response bus for sale in western Montana. Asking price is $25k, but it has a lot of existing infrastructure. Cool to look at if nothing else.

that would be a score far sure.
all the little stuff adds up quick and the vintage to go with it.
cool.
if i had the room i would get it in honor of my firefighter ems family and keep it as is except it wouldnt fit in there home town parade because the what used to be a small town never had a need for it.
i keep wanting to turn an old fire truck into a camper and keep it looking like a fire truck outside in honor of my dad.
but which project first after awhile they pile up and you feel like you will never catch up?

Who do you mean? If you are referring to the recently posted gillig bus, it's near Hamilton, MT. I am not the seller - if interested, contact the seller directly though craigslist.

I tell people that a school bus is just a dump truck for hauling children. Well here's an actual dump truck stitched to a bus body and it looks more awesome that I would have imagined:

Yup, that's a bus alright.
So it's an international probably 444
Mileage? Tire condition, so you don't immediately have to spend several thousand on tires like I did. Year? Any rust? Asking price?
Dude, go drive that thing even if you don't buy it.

As a school bus driver, I wish that were literally true. It would be fun to just push a button and eject kids at their stops.
