They all have the same description but obviously the first one is more than 25 feet long. I wish I knew the exact length. The roof is obviously raised which is awesome. I wish it had the bigger Cummins engine in it and was built for mountain climbing like the one I'm probably going to get! The lift is where I wanted

A: yes correct according to transportation (1/9/17 8:42 AM)
I think the guy answering meant, "Those are indeed the numbers that show... on the replacement panel." Unless he meant that Transportation can wound the odometer to match the takeout. Can/do they do that?

I contacted them and they said the odometer mileage is the correct mileage.
Its on them if they're lying.

I think that a Gillig like that could be an awesome foundation for a conversion.

Personally, I think the apparent condition is a bit South of a $5k bus. Just my $0.02

No maintanance records or clear history on the vehicle. Although of course bidders will most likely ignore that and go bananas on the bidding. I'm sure it will go well over $10K.

yup, that's what I thought.
Would be worth more if it were any other engine, too.

Maybe no one else bids it up any higher or if they do maybe they don't pay and I'll get a "second chance" at it.
I'd take out a small loan for a machine like this one. And I very well may!
Then find me a RE Thomas/Blue Bird with a rumning 8.3L for under $3k.

Why not go for that mobile vet bus? its got EVERYTHING. But its gonna be a bit more than 3k.
RE 8.3's are gonna command the highest prices for sure. But if you're patient you WILL find a deal.

I always picture some nice older laddy putting up the Govdeal post and answering the questions from bidders. Look at this one.

https://www.govdeals.com/index.cfm?f...58&acctid=4321

Q: is it a gas engine (1/4/17 10:17 AM)
A: Yes it is.... (1/4/17 10:58 AM)

Q: what size is the engine does it have air (1/6/17 10:04 AM)
A: 6.5-liter gasoline engine, the van as air but it does not work. (1/6/17 2:59 PM)

Q: Good day, if it is a 6.5 liter engine it is not gas powered. Regards (1/9/17 7:46 PM)
A: 6.5 liter turbo diesel (1/10/17 10:09 AM)

so cute

the 77 gillag probably has a 215 hp NA 3208 cat, torque is around 600 ft/lbs and the onan quiet diesel generator sells used for what the starting bid of the bus is

some of those ads too I wonder if the seller has sarcasm.. i looked at one a cxouple months ago and in the PICS.. it said 'DIESEL FUEL ONLY' on the dash and on the side of the bus.. but a person posted a question asking if it was diesel or gasoline...

I've seen some AWESOME smart-assed answers on the question section of GovDeals listings.
One favorite was "does this vehicle roll coal?"

Turns out they corrected the listing on that LA bus. dash cluster had been replaced. Figures.

There was a RE 8.3 in MD not too long ago. On Public Surplus. It got little attention and had to be listed a few times, IIRC.
