I just went and crawled all over this one this morning:

https://www.govdeals.com/index.cfm?f...=1&acctid=7498

Not really anything that I could point at as wrong with it, but 300K on the engine, not an engine that gets talked about here much (T444E), and the access to the engine is not good at all.

OTOH, it's a re-listed item; the first winner backed out at $1100, and they'll take pretty much anything. IIRC it's 2/3 of the way through the bid interval and nobody's bid on it. If somebody wants to take a flyer for $500, good on 'em.

Here's an '87 Bluebird bus that appears to be a factory special-order mobile office of some sort.

Bidding is only at $2800, auction ends tomorrow afternoon. Looks like an excellent base for a conversion!

If you're in Maryland I'd wait til next spring when Montgomery County sells their next batch of Thomas SafTLiners - those are proven to be good buses for skoolie conversions.

If you can afford the maintenance on the Cats. Navistar and Cummins plants have a much, much better parts availability, and the 3000REs have excellent engine access for maintenance.

I am sure that a pencil sharpener wasn't standard equipment and wasn't offered as an option.
